rooms-before-and-after

I can’t believe I’m saying this….

….we are starting on round two of the house decorating.

Are you surprised?

Are you rolling your eyes?

Are you sighing?

Are you thinking….I mean…isn’t she decorating the gatehouse and didn’t she just start a burlap blog and isn’t she about to travel to Alabama for a show with her stamped spoons and the entire contents of her attic?

Just in case you missed it…..before we enter into round two….

….here’s a few before and after room makeovers from round one.

Stay tuned. :)

  25. I can’t wait to see what fabulousness you come up with next. I have one request please don’t change your butler’s pantry….I love it. Whenever I need a smile, I sneak into your blog and gaze at it’s loveliness. Not in a stalkerish way but an adoring take in all the beautiful milkglass way!

  26. Oh this is gonna be fun!!! Rock on, girlfriend! ~~Ang

  27. S’all good. Just don’t burn out from overdoing it, my sweet friend. You DO have a lot on your plate.

    Hugs.

  28. Lovely results! Change is always good, isn’t it?

  29. Yep! I totally get it. My husband is used to the line ” You know it may not stay there or that way, or even stay.”
His reply: “Oh I knoooow.” There is a reason we like to decorate. Very. dynamic.
Very much looking forward to what you create!

  30. Well, it’s either start round 2 or buy a new house to decorate right?? Have fun!!!

  31. It’s not good to suppress inspiration…go for it! I admire people who are inspired and then carry those ideas out. You have a beautiful home and are such a talent.

    Nancy

  32. Hey, if you sweet man hasn’t left over this, and can see the value in doing it twice (or thrice as the case may come to be), then why not? It’s food for the blog as they say. And when you find THE fabric…well you’re just powerless at that point.

  33. Love it! Know the feeling, once I finally finish, I see something that strikes my fancy to get me going all over again. :) Can’t wait to see what you do.

  34. I love all of your rooms and appreciate your eye for detail. Can’t wait to see what comes next. I’m always stopping by to see what you are working on…sorry I don’t comment more. I guess that makes me a blog stalker, Kari! Thanks so much for stopping by my place the other day. Made me smile to see you there. :)

  35. Look forward to seeing it Kari.
I’ve done several rounds of my home and it continues to be fun. Sometimes my husband comes home and does a double take when a whole room has been made-over in his absence. :)

  36. Round 2? Does that mean you’re re-doing all of those beautiful rooms? Gasp! They’re SO pretty! And, the transformations were incredible!

  37. Seriously are we ever really done decorating…lol!
    xx
    Anne

  38. I just found your blog and I LOVE EVERYTHING about your house! It is the most beautiful house I have ever seen; I cant imagine changing it, but I know it will be even more beautiful. I am a fellow western Kentucky girl and I would be glad to come if you ever have a yard sale! Love, Love, Love everything! Good luck with round 2 and the gatehouse!

  39. Your home is already so beautiful! Can’t wait to see what round 2 brings!

  40. When I finished decorating the three upstairs guest rooms and declared myself done, my daughter threw her head back and laughed….then she said “You know your’e going to start over again soon!” Sigh. It’s a curse! Can’t wait to see what room you re-do.

  41. I can’t wait! Can we get a sneak peek of the fabric? Pretty please?

  42. GO FOR IT!!!!! When you are on a ROLL…you have to “roll with it” and I know you will and I know it will be SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hugs my friend and have an awesome time in Alabama!

  43. Thank you, thank you! I need this shot in the arm inspiration to see the before’s at my butt is dragging in keeping up with determination in my rental, making it home. Mindful Gray is on all living room walls. I have to get woodwork done. I painted fireplace mantel in Coco Annie Sloan chalk paint. It already looks so much more cozy!!!! Hope you and your are well!

  44. Good for you! We’ve just bought our place and are building a front gate (it’s not finished completely yet) to start with, and last night husband decided we’ll pull it down and re-do/re-design it all. He wondered if we were mad and I said that we’re not alone – all the lovely blogs I read (yours has just proved it!!!) have plenty of people doing up and re-doing their places all the time!!! He didn’t feel so guilty then! :-)

  45. Kari…your before and afters are always just amazing and you have an abundance of energy!!!…looking forward to Round Two!

  46. I am living through you….since it takes so much energy to do what you do. I just love it! And, if I take away even one thing ( that I can copy from you), I feel so satisfied. Thank you for that! You give me so many ideas.
    You are an inspiration.

  47. Sheryll & Critters. :

I desperately want/would love to have your round one.

  48. KariAnne,
Oh, my goodness. . .you’ve been busy, dear one!!!
I adore all the light and bright updating you’ve done already. . .
but I understand that you’ve a new inspirational material!
I’ll be watching for round two!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  49. Dramatic makeovers! Love each one. What is the name of your wall paint color in the master bedroom and kitchen? Such a pretty creamy color. I enjoy your blog very much.

  50. Knowing how much I adore what you already have I just know I’ll love “round 2″ even more!! Can’t wait to see what you do next!!

  51. You are such a tease, Karianne, telling us you have a new inspiration fabric and not showing us! Can’t wait to see it and what you do with it.

  52. I have the same reddish toile wallpaper throughout the entryway/staircase/second floor landing of my house, along with coordinating paint! It was put up in such a meticulous manner that you cannot even see the seams AND even the light fixtures match up to the pattern. I keep dreaming of a day that I can redo everything but so far I don’t have any idea of what would be better. :D
