Five Fall Projects

Farmhouse Front Door

I was supposed to spend all day at a baseball tournament.

But it’s raining.

If it rained…..I told myself I would spend the day cleaning and organizing.

But I”m not…..

…..I’m looking at Pinterest.

Much more fun.

Fall is around the corner and I needed a little inspiration with my coffee and rain this morning.

And besides….a new fall wreath makes all that dirt look a little better. :)

If it’s raining where you are and you need a little fall inspiration this morning….

….here are five fall projects from 2012!

  1. Yep, it’s raining here in Florida too! And guess what I got up this morning thinking about Fall decorating! You know what they say about great minds! I love Fall decorating and I am determined to have mine done by the end of August. Have a great Fall decorating day.

  2. I’m spending my morning on Pinterest, too.

love your fall projects…so many good ones. :)

  3. My plan was to sleep late, but crashing lightning and thunder rousted me out! :)

Pinterest, Facebook, and Pioneer Woman this morning! And then I saw YOU! Gorgeous stuff today!

    • Loved your comment because that is exactly what I am doing this Pinterest and pioneer woman . Love them together ! Happy looking!

  4. Ahhh! I too am dreaming of fall! Thanks for the lovely project ideas; I love your décor style. It is so beautiful here in Kentucky this time of year. We are at a place in life where we can move anywhere in the United States that we want to. (retired military) Fall alone, could keep me here in Kentucky. It makes my heart ache to think of missing it. Oh the colors of the leaves, the pumpkin farms, and the smell in the air are all so amazing. We are from Texas; no real fall there. What to do? What to do? ;)

  5. So glad to see that I am not alone in the not cleaning mood (I so need to get off the computer and get this dirty house clean again)…oh well…maybe in 30 minutes I will:) Thanks for sharing some wonderful Fall ideas.

    Blessings,
    Linda

  6. No rain here, but it’s much cooler and a beautiful morning. I’m sitting on the sun porch with a 3rd cup of coffee and my laptop. ‘-)
Thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy your rainy day! ~ Sarah

  7. It feels like fall this morning in Joplin! We’ve had rain 27 of the last 34 days according to the weatherman, but none today. I can’t wait to try some of your gorgeous fall ideas!!!

  8. So pretty and full of Fall inspiration! I have been a Fall decorating fool because it has rained so much this year! Love these projects!

  9. I love Fall sooooo much! I already have all of my Fall scents for our house ready, the garlands are organized and will go up in September sometime. These ideas are gorgeous, thank you for always inspiring Karianne!!

  10. Fall is my favorite and you’ve given me so many wonderful ideas. I’ve been sitting here at the computer screen clicking and saving and forwarding to my husband with notes of, “We could do this!” I’m sure he is thrilled. ha ha (But he always helps me in my plans.)

  11. Penny @ The Comforts of Home and From Harvest To Table :

No rain here, yet…but we are suppose to get a lot this afternoon. Thanks for the wonderful fall inspiration!

  12. Love all of your fall decor projects!….Have a great weekend!

  13. I really like all of your fall inspirations – great ideas. I was in the fall mood but we just go a HOT spell in here in So CA after we had a very mild beginning of August. I have everything ready to go in September.
Thanks so much for this lovely post.
    Have a great weekend.
    Mary

  14. I slept in today. LUV weekend lie ins!!! Now running a few loads of laundry ont his grey and over cast North Central Florida day… while reading blogs in the interim :-) Looking at the vacuum as it taunts me … I rolled it out to motivate myself, but not sure it’s working.
Lazy day for me…. :-) Luv the mantel ideas KariAnne…. especially the garden gate one.
    Happy today!
    Hugs, Gee

  15. I’m so ready for fall although the outside temperatures are still screaming summer! Lovely fall inspiration! Thank you!!~~Angela

  16. You know it’s been like fall here for the past three weeks…temps in the low 70′s, lows hovering around 50….no a.c…..it’s been wonderful! Now summer is returning, so I am not a happy camper. Thanks for this cooling post! It’s nice to dream! ;)

  17. Loving all this inspiration and I must admit every year at this time I get the itch for the fall season. This year I will be decorating with my girlfriend for fall. She loves it too. I figure while getting ready to start building our home and being that we are staying with her, I will decorate here. FUN!

    Cynthia

  18. Won’t be long now – but I am totallllly hanging on to summer, as you can see by my summeresque post today.

I spent most of summer held up indoors working – too rainy or too hot most of June and July -so NOW it is truly an enjoyable summertime weather and I am not going to wish it away – though I adore All Things Fall, it’s just going to have to wait. : – )

Love the graphics Andrea is giving, thanks for the heads up!

Have a GREAT weekend, KA!! Hugs.

  19. deannamobelini :

Found your blog today and love it. Looking at your directions to your house….and seeing the beautiful winding road…I immediately thought of Western Kentucky.Don’t cross the river…you’ll be in Illinois and if going the other way…Tenn.!!! ….and then I saw the state pumpkin….my guess is somewhere near Paducah!!! I live exactly on the opposite side of the state from you!!!

  20. Miz karianne, it is finally NOT raining at my house today! We are pretty much sick of the rain at this point. If you’ve kept up with all the flooding in the Midwest, you can understand how wonderful it is in mid-August to have cooler, but sunny days for a change! By the middle of next week, however….we will be seeing more normal daytime temps in the upper 90′s, if not higher.

Love that front door. So pretty!

  21. The outside temperatures are still saying summer, and I love it! But fall will come soon enough. Lovely fall inspiration! Thank you!

  22. Summer is returning to Illinois starting today, but in a nice way, so Fall will have to wait a few days. Our front door looks a lot like yours, even painted black, and even with a door basket like that. Is yours from Willow House? ;) Love the bright sunny colors.

  23. Sheryll & Critters. :

Beautiful ideas.. I just might consider them this next mid October……. but sorry I don’t like anything, NOTHING to do with cold or even cool weather. It is only 90 F in the shade of my breezeway and I am loving it. NO to anything FALL for me……. I won’t listen.

But all are beautiful for you cold weather folks.

  24. Great fall projects..Bring on Fall..my favorite time of year..

  25. It’s a grey, overcast afternoon in Birmingham, AL also. The temps say Fall is around the corner, but AL is a place where the month is no gauge for what the temperature should be. I know Fall is coming. It’s almost innate. Something that God placed into my being. My nose begins to search for the scents of cinnamon, pumpkin and apple. I “pin” casserole recipes and homemade breads frantically before they’re all gone. I may never really make any of them, but I need them. They comfort me. I too had hopes of sleeping in. My daughter volunteers at a retirement home and then planned to meet friends at the zoo, so away we went. My husband’s on the patio getting the bar-b-que ready for ribs and chicken. I search for a great marinade and came upon this site for Fall decorating…what was I looking for again? Ah yes, casseroles!

  26. Wish it would rain here in McKinney! Although I can’t complain too much because the temps have been under 100 all week. Hope you have a great one, KariAnne and thanks for the Fall inspiration.

  27. It’s chilly and raining in Atlanta so these projects were the perfect afternoon inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

  28. Beautiful ideas for Fall-I have the bug too!!
    Happy Hugs,
    jemma

  29. I’m so excited for fall and fall decorating! It’s my favorite season! I can’t wait!

  30. Gorgeous “Fall” decorating! We are coming into Spring here (down-under) so need to get my thinking cap on for that!!!

  31. Raining here too in Raleigh, but I still have unpacking to do, so the weather keeps me to task. I love fall and the locals here have promised that North Carolina is beautiful – I’m inspired, XOXO

  32. That barn mantel with mercury pumpkins has left me speechless!

  33. The outside fall decorating is my favorite, but I’m just not ready to give up my hold on summer yet. xo Laura

  34. Do clean thoughts count?! I’d much rather be on Pinterest or doing something creative! Great projects, here!

  35. Love all these great projects…but I am not NEARLY ready for fall. !!!!
I just HATE that summer is almost over. bwaaaa

  36. The rain was threatening to arrive today, but I told it to back off and surprise, surprise…it listened!

A week ago I swore I was going to hold on to summer tooth and nail, but I spent the better part of the weekend tweaking the porch for Fall. Temps have been lower than normal for this time of year in the Northeast, so it just kinda got me ‘in the mood’ I guess.

  37. What awesome decorations! Makes me want to get out all of my decor right now! I guess I can wait till late septemeber but it will be hard!

  38. Pinterest is much better than cleaning, I don’t blame you at all. I remember your projects from last year, and they look as wonderful this year. Fall…already…wow this year is flying by!
    Debbie :)
