I can’t get enough of the Olympics.
I’m not sure what it is.
Maybe it’s the fact that the countries of the world all come together to celebrate the achievements of the individual.
Or that athletics are the great equalizer and tiny countries like Grenada are able to shine.
Or that world peace and harmony exist….ever so briefly.
Or maybe I am just crushing on Bob Costas.
So in honor of these overwhelming, indescribable, inexplicable games we call the Olympics….I wanted to feature a few medal-worthy projects.
Be Book Bound totally revamped her entire boys’ bathroom.
For $86.00.
So you can take your family for steak and lobster.
Or completely redo your bathroom.
Life is full of tough choices

Leone Design painted her dresser to look like a Parcheesi Board.
I am speechless.
As in….without speech.
Completely unspeechable.
Can you believe it?
I think this dresser belongs in an art gallery.
Really.
Along with this and this and this.
When I saw this vintage mirror frame turned white board over at The Happier Homemaker I was so happy.
And not just because I love the color.
And not just because the idea of a white board is ingenious.
No.
I was happy because I just bought a frame just like this at a tag sale on vacation.
For only a dollar.
Check out this tribute to the Olympics host country from Sew A Fine Seam.
With jute ribbon.
Be still my heart.
*sigh*
Really.
Who needs world peace when you have the Union Jack and Bob Costas?
PS Be sure to visit my co-hosts for more feature inspiration from our All About Color party.
PPS I am partying this post over at Kim’s.

Bob Costas reminds me of the late Dick Clark. He never ages. For me, the Olympics are all about Ladies Beach Volleyball. Wonder why?
$1 tag scale SCORE! Good for you, I can’t wait to see how you beautify it!
What Kari forgot to tell you is that her family is so into the Olympics that each family member selects a country(s) to cheer for- great way to teach geography as well as promote and support America- makes for great family time in spite of the “spoiler alerts”.
P.S. Thanks for all the supportive “Mom” comments- I do marvel at my talented daughter and even learn a thing or two and even sometimes try the projects, BUT I do know that I can always count on some laughter and inspiration – she definitely “brightens” my day with beautiful color!
i am sure that Kari’s beautiful disposition and attitude on life was a result of your love and encouragement….and we all benefit from that! So we thank you!!…
sweet daughter…sweet mom.
karianne’s is one of my favorite blogs because as you said, “i can count on some laiughter and inspiration.”
I give these each a 10!

Gold medals to all the beautiful color projects you’ve featured … so much talent out there.
These are great, Kari! I am LOVING the Olympics … and Bob Costas and Al Michaels and Matt Lauer.
that piece of furniture is surely gold medal worthy……amazing paint job! I heard someone say that Phelps was a country all to himself as he had won more medals than some small countries…… WOW
Wow!!! Those are some great projects! I love the dresser and the bathroom!
Hugs, Cindy
I thought Bob was all mine but now I know I’m going to have to share him. I’ve always loved Union Jack’s and that shower curtain and pillows would look perfect in any English home.
Love your presentations of the beautiful examples of color….So glad you are having fun “tagging” along with your family….hope you found some great things…the mirror for a dollar?…how do you do it?…enjoying the Olympics too…so much so. that I intruded on the “coffee shrine” territory and hung a vintage Olympics chalkboard…Go Team USA!…
That bathroom is awesome… and for $86??? Even more awesomeness. And that dresser could be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
so glad to hear others share my affection for bob costas. had a crush on him for years!
i so love leone designed furniture…SO unique. i’d pin it all if pinterest would stop telling me i have too many pins already! i didn’t think there was a limit!
We are loving the Olympics, too. We even set the DVR so we can watch what we miss while we are at work. Really! Don’t you think we should have paid days off during the Olympics – you know national holidays? We, of course, love the basketball, and we get to see our Coach K.
We in project mindset at our house, and it is just too hard to work on projects and watch the Olympics at the same time. Loving all of your featured projects today, KariAnne.
KariAnne,
One dollar! For an identical frame to the gorgeous one transformed with orange and whiteboard. Lucky. girl.
Love your features and each and every one of the inspiring colorful posts linked to the party. Thanks so much for being a host of this great link party that I hope we’ll see again! Robin @ happilyhomeafter.blogspot.com
10- Gold medals to all! These are as cute as can be! Score! Love the Olympics too! I’m always amazed, as I am here!
We are enjoying the Olympics too! LOVE the girls gymnastics and woman’s volleyball …GO USA!
Great features!

Anne
Such lovely examples of color and TALENT you’ve featured! The parcheesi board dresser is phenomenal!! And, Bob Costas…..well, without hairspray, he’s just a guy on tv. ;-D
Great features, love them – they get a “gold” from me!
I agree with Leo. Isn’t Bob Costas like 10,000 years old? How does the man not age? Love your medal worthy features! But shouldn’t it be three? Gold. Silver. Bronze. What’s the fourth? Brass? Pewter? Brushed Nickel?
You know, you’re right. It IS Bob Costas. Well, that and the fact that I FEEL like I’m exercising when I watch all of those amazing athletes doing what they do best. Then, several hours and a bowl of popcorn later, reality sets in and I realize that NO ONE really wants to see me running…across a floor…in a leotard…or even in a warm-up suit…..xo
AAahhhh. You showcased some pretties today. Hard pressed to find a favourite, they are all great.
The Olympics… I am sad to saw I missed it all
Way back in the day when I worked in a school and taught Kindergarten, we would choose countries and cheer them on. We did a big study about the culture and geography of said country/countries . made easy recipe items, tried to copy the dress, made the flag… it was soo much fun molding fresh little minds.
Have a wonderful rest of day KariAnne.
.The dresser is amazing…,,Never thought of embellishing a shower curtain..Great idea ..
Beautiful projects…beautiful comments from your sweet Mom, too! She’s def (another) GOLD metal Mom for raising such a talented daughter! Kari—you add such color to each of our lives by sharing the gift of your creative talents!! Blessings!
What great colorful projects. I love that dresser! And those pillows! Time to get a little more color into my life.
I am totally loving that whiteboard makeover! It’s glam and fun… and my daughter just happens to have a whiteboard she’s been patiently waiting for me to creatively finish… this might just be the ticket! Now, to find an awesome mirror or picture frame that fits. Hmmmm, luck be with me!!!
All great projects!
That white board makes me weak in the knees!
If blogging ever becomes an Olympic event you will be the gold winner, you already are in my book anyway! Love your finds.
Aw, so thrilled that you featured my pillows! Thanks bunches Karianne!
good heavens….these are all sooo awesome.
I can’t get enuf of the games, either. What in the world will I watch when it’s all over. ???
Man, I am in love with that red, white, and blue BUNTING photo. Awesome angle. It puts a smile on my face wherever I see it pop up! =) (I was here earlier today, and just spotted you again on Google+. Yeah, a real creeper. ha! ~Sally
Those are all great! 86.00 to re do a bathroom is mind boggling. How great that you found such a beautiful frame. I’m always on the lookout for great frames, I would swoon with excitement if ever I found one that gorgeous…and for a dollar wow!
Not into the games but you projects do not let us down as usual………………..a great job
I’m on my way to check out the 86.00 bathroom; but that dresser is to die for! Thanks for sharing.
Great projects, especially like the parcheesi dresser. Would be neat in an entire room with furniture pieces done up like game boards. Actually no, that would be weird. And I’m loving the Olympics too! But Canada is always disappointing in medal count. What are we in, like 36th place?! Great. Reminds me of track meet, when I’d go home with a participation ribbon. Thanks for participating and making us all look faster and better.
